Figured I'd do a little review of the stuff I received so far... (much more on it's way- I'm powerless to resist the CODE). I'm in a detailed sort of mood...
Addy's Lunch- I already had this, but I just wanted to comment that I was kind of disappointed in it when I got it on monthly special last year. I wish I'd gotten with the CODE, I wouldn't feel like it was not worth what I paid. It's cute, but the grapes aren't at all realistic (on mine the green paint from the leaves bleeds onto the grapes). I do like the tin pail (even though it's kind of cheap) and the cookies with "sugar" on them. B
Josefina's Lunch- arrived today and I LOVE it! It would be worth the regular price IMO. The canteen is nice pottery (although it has a plastic stopper- wish they'd used real cork). The bag is nice and sturdy, and I love the food. The plum was kind of sticky- don't know if that's how it's supposed to be. I can't wait for Josie to arrive! A
Kirsten's (Mattel) Lunch- I have the PM version, but wanted both versions of the lunchbox. I really like them both. The lunchbox arrived with a split in the wood of one of the upright hook-thingies, but no matter since it's only a display piece and I have a fully functional PM one. I'll be selling the food and cloth on ebay- just wanted the box. It's really nice. I have to say I like the old clay PM food a little better- don't know why. A
Samantha's Lunch- this is cute, but not worth $20 IMO. I'd gotten it before in a lot from ebay and resold it, wanting a PM one. But at the price I paid with the CODE, it's worth it. The food is cute and very dainty. A-
Kit's Lunch- I think I would have been disappointed had it been regular price, but for $8 including shipping it was a steal. The box is cute and I liked that the lid is hinged (I thought it'd just pop off like Sam's). I really love the napkin with the embroidery. And the sandwich is very cute and realistic, LOVE the apple. My cookie looks like barf though. Really. It's kind of orangy and the chocolate chips are greenish. Weird. A-
Kaya's Foods- I LOVED this! I need Kaya... It's perfect! The basket is so gorgeous and even though it's plastic, I really like the bowl. And the tule mat is so cute! You get a ton of really great, realistic food too. I really like that there's the whole camas roots, camas root mash, and the finger cakes, so Kaya can make her food. Also, the huckleberries are so cool because some are magnetic and can come off the main lump. As a person that's trained in ethnobotany, I was just thrilled to see realistic indigenous foods like that. I only wish they discussed the foods and plants in the brochure more. Overall, a great deal, even for regular price. A+++
Addy's Ladderback Chairs- I already have an antique table for Addy that just needed chairs, so I ordered them individuallly. What a steal- only $17 each with the CODE. They're a little light weight, but I love the woven seat. Looks good with the table- I like my set better than her orangy round one in the catalog. Also, I love the boxes they come in- big and sturdy AG logo boxes. I'll be using these for storing dolls' hats and little clothing pieces like aprons. Handy.
